The First Meeting of the "Professional Training and Tools for Fighting Trafficking in Human Beings in EU" Project Was Held in Rome

On 12 and 13 March 2026, the eight partner organisations of the TRAFFICKING Erasmus+ project gathered in Rome for the project’s kick-off meeting. Hosted by FILEF Basilicata, this two-day session marked the operational start of a 26-month European cooperation aimed at defining a common professional profile in anti-trafficking efforts.

Representatives from six partner countries—Italy, Norway, Belgium, Serbia, Turkey, and Greece—convened to align their national contexts and project expectations. The consortium focused on establishing a competence-based approach, setting the methodological framework for upcoming training curricula and the "Dictionary of Competencies."

The project will continue its momentum with the Joint Staff Training in Athens, scheduled for June 2026. Hosted by The Smile of the Child, this event will launch the comparative survey's field phase and the collaborative design of the training curriculum, further strengthening our collective impact in the fight against human trafficking.
